Assignment
Documents the relationship of a scheduled game and an official who has undertaken responsibility to work that game.
Assignor
Person appointed by the officials association to assure the assignment of the appropriate officiating staff for a scheduled game.
Association
Organization of persons having a common interest - hockey officiating.
Game
Contest between two teams, scheduled by the appointed scheduler, for a specific date and time, and at a particular arena.
Official
Person, either a member of the officials association, or known to the association and approved to work games by the association, and certified by a recognized governing body (e.g. USA Hockey).
Rating
A number, that represents a specific level of hockey, based on the age and skill levels of the teams playing a particular game. Ratings are assigned to each official by the evaluation staff and designate what game level an official can Ref and Line, which may be different.
Referee
Sports official usually having final authority in administering a game.
Schedule
Program or outline of events (games) detailing the location, date, time, and the age and skill level of participants.
Scheduler
Person appointed to make a schedule of events (games) designating the details of where, when and who.
