- Assignment
- Documents the relationship of a scheduled game and an official
who has undertaken responsibility to work that game.
- Assignor
- Person appointed by the officials association to assure the
assignment of the appropriate officiating staff for a scheduled game.
- Association
- Organization of persons having a common interest - hockey officiating.
- Game
- Contest between two teams, scheduled by the appointed scheduler, for a
specific date and time, and at a particular arena.
- Official
- Person, either a member of the officials association, or known to the
association and approved to work games by the association, and
certified by a recognized governing body (e.g. USA Hockey).
- Rating
- A number, that represents a specific level of hockey, based on the
age and skill levels of the teams playing a particular game. Ratings
are assigned to each official by the evaluation staff and designate
what game level an official can Ref and Line, which may be different.
- Referee
- Sports official usually having final authority in administering a game.
- Schedule
- Program or outline of events (games) detailing the location, date, time,
and the age and skill level of participants.
- Scheduler
- Person appointed to make a schedule of events (games) designating
the details of where, when and who.
