Adrian was a valued and respected member of the Cascade Hockey Officials Association – an
official for 5 years. He worked over 100 games this past season - at various levels but
especially at the Midget and Adult levels. His contributions to our association are greatly
appreciated and will be sorely missed.
Adrian took quite a leap this past season working men’s games. While he had a rocky start to
working this level, he was able to learn and persevere and in fact played a game or two with
the very same men who challenged him in the beginning of the season and learned to respect
him before the end of the season.
Adrian volunteered for a board position with CHOA and was going to work as a mentor to younger
officials next season. He was also getting ready for the up coming Western Hockey League camp
and was one of a select few that was to be evaluated by referees in chief from both USA hockey
and the western league.
Adrian was building a reputation as a solid official and gaining the respect and friendship
of his fellow officials. Most of us also remember Adrian as a player, a solid goaltender who
grew up in the local hockey community where he was well liked and made many friends.
Adrian was kidded about his ref pants getting tucked inside his skate or the fact that he dropped
half of his gear in the parking lot as he rushed into the rink - Just like a kid. Adrian is also
remembered for how composed he could be when pressured by a coach, a player or a fan - So mature.
We lost Adrian while he was in that transition from kid to adult. He was a great kid; He would
have made a great adult. He will be missed.
On behalf of the entire membership of CHOA our deepest condolences go out to his entire family.
